Carol Matyka is president of CARE Advocate Networks based in Boston. She served as a member of the National Advisory Council for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), which provides advice to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services secretary and to the director of AHRQ on issues related to healthcare quality improvement. She was a field coordinator for the National Breast Cancer Coalition for 14 years. She received her master’s degree from the University of Michigan and her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
